Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Organic Farm Manager/Specialist to oversee and optimize our organic farming operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all aspects of organic crop production, ensuring adherence to organic standards, and maximizing yields while maintaining soil health and environmental sustainability.
Responsibilities:
Planning and Implementation:
Develop and implement comprehensive organic farming plans, including crop selection, rotation schedules, and soil management strategies.
Plan and execute planting, cultivation, fertilization, and harvesting activities.
Manage irrigation systems and ensure efficient water usage.
Organic Standards Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to organic certification standards (e.g., USDA Organic, EU Organic).
Maintain accurate records of all organic farming practices, inputs, and outputs.
Prepare for and participate in organic certification inspections.
Soil Health Management:
Implement soil-building practices such as composting, cover cropping, and green manure application.
Monitor soil health through regular testing and analysis.
Develop and implement strategies for erosion control and soil conservation.
Pest and Disease Management:
Implement integrated pest and disease management (IPM) strategies, focusing on preventative measures and biological controls.
Monitor crops for pests and diseases and take appropriate action.

Team Leadership:
